Finally Better!

Makayla just got over strep (in her ears) and Scarlet Fever! And Ashleigh had a nasty cold last week. James and I got a little bit of their sickness, luckily nothing that really knocked us down for too long. The girls are back in school this week and having fun!

I'm having some problems with one of my memory cards from my camera. Unfortunately I think it's the one that has Christmas pictures on it, so I may or may not get some holiday pictures posted on here.

This weekend we're painting our living room, so I probably won't get any pictures or videos up until next week sometime.

Lapbooking!

We’ve discovered “Lap Book”ing! What a great idea! This is an awesome way to take a theme kids love and use it to teach them about several different subjects. Makayla is going to use the Wizard of Oz theme to learn about tornadoes, rainbows, the heart, and brain. Ashleigh will use a Cinderella theme to learn how to tell time, measure her feet, and explore human relations (what attributes make a good princess), and more (I’m still developing ideas for these books). We're also going to do lapbooks with their best friends Jaelynn and Bubby. We're going to start Jaelynn with a Halloween book and Bubby with a 'B is for...' book. The kids are always looking for great craft projects, this is an awesome tool to teach them while allowing them to explore their crafty side.

Swimming

Makayla got to go with her friend to Ft Rapids in September. (It's one of those indoor waterparks at a hotel. It's just down the street from us.) She had so much fun! We will try to take the girls this winter when they have cabin fever and we need something fun to do.
